Overview

Below are various short how to instructions of features of the Mitel Phone system

Steps for features

Placing a call

  • With or without the handset lifted, dial the extension number, if within Earlham, or 8 + Outside Number.

Holding a call

  • With a call in progress, Press the Hold key.

  • Press the Flashing call key to get back to the caller.

Muting a Call

  • While on a call, press the Mute button. To unmute, press the Mute button again.

Transferring a Call

  • While on the call press the Transfer/Conference button, and then enter the extension number.

  • Wait for an answer, announce the call, and then hang up.

    • If the extension is unavailable, press the Cancel button to return to the caller.

  • To transfer directly to voicemail, press the Message key, dial the mailbox number and hang up.

Access Your Call History

  • Press the Superkey or Applications button

  • Select Call History from the display.

  • Choose Missed, Answered, or Made from the display.

  • Use page selectors to scroll through the call display

Forward A Call

  • Press the Superkey or Applications button

  • Select Call Forwarding from the display

  • Enter the number: 8 + Outside Number

  • Select Activate from the display

    • Note: To cancel, follow the same steps as above but press Deactivate instead of Activate

Placing A Conference Call

  • While on the call, press Transfer/Conference, and then enter the extension number or dial 8 + Outside number.

  • Wait for an answer, press Transfer/Conference to connect everyone together.

    • If the extension is unavailable, press Cancel to return to the caller.

Program an Extension or Feature Key

  • Press the Superkey or Applications button

  • Select Settings from the display.

  • Select Programmable Keys from the display.

  • Press the Key you wish to program.

  • You can view Features or Applications: If you are looking at Applications, there will be a button that says, “view Features”.

  • If necessary, Press View Features

  • Use the Page Navigation Keys to scroll through the features list

    • Select the feature you want, a default label is assigned

      • Select Speed Call to program an extension nor outside number

        • Select Edit Label, enter the name using the dial pad, Press Save

        • Select Edit Number, enter the extension or dial 8 + Outside number, press save.

    • Press Save

  • Keep pressing Close until you get back to the main screen.

Setting Up Your New Mailbox

  • Press the Message key.

  • Enter your passcode when prompted.

  • Follow the prompts to record your greeting

  • Follow the prompts to record your name.

  • Follow the prompts to change your passcode.

Change Your Greeting

  • Log into your Mailbox

  • Dial 8 for Options

  • Dial 4 for Greetings

    • Dial 2 for your conditional Greeting

    • Dial 7 for your Primary Greeting

    • Dial 4 for your Extended Absence Greeting

Remote Access Voicemail

  • Dial your extension/phone number and let it go to voicemail
  • When you hear your greeting playing. Press the * key.

  • Enter your passcode for your voicemail when prompted.
    ​​​​​​​
  • You should now have access to all of the voicemail features as if you were standing in front of your physical phone​​​​​​​
